TERRIFIC RENEWABLES INCENTIVES!!

FEED-IN TARIFF - Clean energy Cashback:

  • This covers a variety of technolgies including photovoltaic systems and wind turbines.
  • The structure of the FiT is very generous and will provide a guaranteed (index-linked) income stream for up to 25 years. For private individuals, that income is tax free, too! For example, with effect from 1st April 2011, it can pay you up to 43.3p per kWh for all the electricity you generate - and you can consume it all free of charge, too. SEE "GRANTS"

RENEWABLE HEAT INCENTIVE:

  • It's a fabulous, bold and adventurous scheme which will provide a worthwhile "payback" for everyone who invests in renewables.
  • DECC has published its plans which can be seen at RHI. Phase 1 of the scheme, which opened for enquiries in July 2011 (taking applications from September 2011), will be focused on the non-domestic sector.
  • However, an interim grant scheme for householders - the Renewable Heat Premium Payment scheme is open now to applications to the Energy Saving Trust.
  • Phase 2, covering the domestic sector will open in July of 2012 (taking applications from Autumn 2012 to co-incide with the launch of the Green Dealis.
  • The scheme is designed to encourage you to heat your business or home by renewable energy systems - ground source heat pumps, air source heat pumps (from 2012), biomass (wood pellet and wood chip ) boilers, solar thermal systems.  SEE "GRANTS"
